What a HydraFacial does

The manufacturer, Hydrafacial, describes it as a non-invasive facial that uses its Vortex-Fusion technology to cleanse, exfoliate, extract and hydrate the skin in a single session. A handpiece uses gentle suction with specialized tips to remove impurities and dead skin cells while infusing serums. The manufacturer lists immediate benefits including a visible reduction in pore size, fine lines and uneven texture, and an increase in hydration, with longer-term improvement coming from regular sessions.

Aesthetic OOGII's menu describes the treatment as suitable for all skin types and able to address a range of concerns, including acne, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and dry skin, and says it can be tailored to individual needs. It is a reasonable choice when your skin looks dull, feels dry or has visible congestion and you want something with no downtime.

What your visit includes

  • A consultation. Aesthetic OOGII's policy is that every client is offered a complimentary consultation with Oogii, including an assessment of your skin to recommend the best course of treatment.
  • Cleanse, exfoliate, extract, hydrate. These are the core steps the manufacturer lists for every Hydrafacial.
  • Boosters. The manufacturer describes boosters as targeted serums that personalize the treatment for concerns such as dark spots, fine lines, redness or congestion. Ask at your consultation which, if any, would be used for your skin.
  • Timing. The two combination treatments are listed at 75 minutes. The menu gives no duration for the single HydraFacial session, so ask when you book how long to allow.

Classic, MD and combination treatments

Several versions are on the menu:

  • HydraFacial Treatment — $325 per session. A single visit, before an event or as an occasional reset.
  • MD HydraFacial — three sessions for $600 ($200 a session). Sold as a three-session package; the menu description is the same as the single session. Ask at booking how far apart to space the visits.
  • Six-session package — $1,150 (about $192 a session). For people planning regular visits.
  • HydraFacial & Acne Treatment — $315, 75 minutes. Pairs the HydraFacial with the studio's acne treatment — see acne treatment if breakouts are the main concern.
  • HydraFacial & Collagen Treatment — $325, 75 minutes. Pairs the HydraFacial with a collagen treatment.

Aesthetic OOGII's policy notes that series packages must be redeemed within a calendar year and that packages are non-refundable, so a single session is a low-commitment way to see how your skin responds before buying a package. Current prices for every option are on the treatment menu.

HydraFacial or a chemical peel?

Both exfoliate, but they work differently. A HydraFacial combines exfoliation with suction extraction and serum infusion. A chemical peel, as Aesthetic OOGII's menu puts it, applies a chemical solution to the skin so the top layer peels off. The American Academy of Dermatology says healing after a light peel takes 1 to 7 days, and that refreshing peels may need 3 to 5 peels, repeated every 2 to 5 weeks.

  • A HydraFacial may suit you if you want a treatment the studio lists as having no downtime, you have an event coming up, or your main concern is dryness or congestion.
  • A peel may suit you if you are treating marks, uneven tone or rough texture and can plan around a few days of healing.
  • If your skin is sensitive or you have rosacea, suitability depends on your skin's condition and on the products used — both options can involve exfoliating ingredients. Raise it at your consultation rather than assuming either one is automatically gentler.

On cost, a single HydraFacial ($325) is a little more than a single chemical peel ($300, 60 minutes), but peels are often done as a series, so compare the cost of the whole course rather than one appointment.

Who it suits, and when to check first

The menu describes the HydraFacial as suitable for all skin types. Before booking, Aesthetic OOGII's policy asks clients to tell the studio about any health conditions, allergies, injuries, recent medical procedures or special needs, because some treatments and products are not recommended for certain clients. That includes pregnancy, a skin condition such as rosacea or eczema, an active rash or sunburn, and any recent injectables, peels or laser work.

If you have had Botox or filler, ask the clinician who treated you how long to wait before a facial; the right timing depends on the procedure. If you use prescription skincare such as a retinoid, mention it when you book and follow the instructions you are given.

Aftercare

The studio's menu describes the HydraFacial as requiring no downtime, but everyone's skin responds differently. Ask at your appointment what aftercare suits your skin, and contact the studio if your skin reacts. Sun protection is a sensible habit after any exfoliating treatment: the AAD recommends a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.

How often to come in

The manufacturer says many clients schedule sessions about once a month or every 2 to 3 months, and that the treatment can be performed more often. There is no single right interval; ask at your consultation what makes sense for your skin and goals. Multi-session packages bring the per-session cost down if you plan to come regularly.
